Woodbridge & DMCC announced as Maxxis Organiser of the Year for 2016

The 2016 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean featured some of the closest racing in recent years as the Series was hosted by eight different Organisers, all ensuring their preparations for each round were of the highest quality which demonstrates and justifies why the Series is regarded as the one of the premier domestic Motocross championships in Europe.

This season saw all three British Champions being crowned at the final round and all winning by small margins which made the final race day at Foxhill very exciting for the large crowd lucky enough to witness the drama unfold before their eyes.

It then falls on the Series Promoter – ACU Events Ltd to select the Organiser of the Year.  A difficult task given the high standards achieved during 2016 by all eight Organisers, but in the words of the Highlander ……… ‘There can be only one’ ………….

Woodbridge & DMCC who hosted Round Six at their Blaxhall circuit in Suffolk have been awarded the prestigious title of Maxxis Organiser of the Year for 2016.

Woodbridge & DMCC returned to the British Championship calendar in 2015 with a highly successful first event which was enjoyed by riders and fans alike.  The club continued to improve on key areas of the event in readiness for this year and in doing so provided a perfect race circuit and smoothly run event on one of the hottest days of the summer.

Series Manager Stuart Drummond commented by saying, “This year has been a good year for all the Organisers and Promoters and it has been a really tough decision who to select as Organiser Of The Year and as always the standard has been outstanding, but one has to stand out. My congratulations go to the Woodbridge & DMCC.  It's always good to recognise hard work at all levels, well done to everyone involved".

Speaking on behalf of the Woodbridge & DMCC, Debbie Blyth said, “As a club it is a great honour to have been given this award for the 2016 season as it has been something that we have been aiming for since 2014 when we agreed to host the 2015 event. We always pride ourselves on producing the best events that we can for the riders, teams and spectators and over the last two seasons we feel this has been achieved and we will continue to look at making more improvements to enhance peoples experience at the event in 2017.”

Woodbridge & DMCC will receive their award at the Annual ACU Awards & Presentations evening at the National Motorcycle Museum on Saturday 28th January.

The championship returns to Blaxhall next year again as the Club host Round Six on 16th July.

Woodbridge & DMCC Retain Maxxis Organiser of the Year Award for 2017

With the 2017 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean now in the history books, ACU Events Ltd were left to select the Organiser of the Year. A difficult task given the high standards achieved by the various Organisers.

The Series was hosted by eight different Organisers who all ensured preparations were at the highest standard which demonstrated and justified why the British Championship is regarded as one of the premier domestic Motocross Series in Europe.

For the second year in a row the Woodbridge and District Motorcycle Club hosted Round Six of the Championship at Blaxhall circuit in Suffolk and have been awarded the prestigious title of Maxxis Organiser of the Year for 2017.

Since their involvement with the British Championship in 2015, Woodbridge have continued with ambition to improve on making the venue a firm favourite for riders and race fans alike.

Series Manager Stuart Drummond commented by saying, “The dedication and outstanding work was shown by every promoter and organiser which always makes the decision process difficult when standards are set so high in the first place. The decision was reached and the honours went to the Woodbridge Club for presenting an exceptional event that culminated every aspect of a well organised Maxxis British Championship Round.”

Speaking on behalf of the Woodbridge & DMCC, Debbie Blyth said, “As a club it is a great honour to have been given this award for the second time running. When we received the award for the 2016 season we knew that we would have to work extremely hard to retain the title for 2017 and this makes all the hard work worthwhile. We always pride ourselves on producing the best events that we can for the riders, teams, spectators and our valued local sponsors. Over the last three seasons we feel this has been achieved and we will continue to look at making more improvements to enhance peoples experience at the event in 2018 and beyond.”

Woodbridge & DMCC nails Maxxis hat-trick

Woodbridge & DMCC has won the coveted Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship Organiser of the Year award for the third consecutive time. The Suffolk club staged the third round of this year’s series at its fantastic Blaxhall circuit, running classes for the MX1, MX2, MXY2 and British Two-stroke championships as part of a packed programme that featured nine points-paying races.

“As a club it is a great honour to have been given this award for the third time running,” said Woodbridge Press Officer Richard Blyth. “Over the off-season we’ve spent a number of weeks redesigning the track layout to give a fresh feel to the venue for the riders and teams.”

“The news that we have become the first organiser to claim the award three times is a real proud moment for all at the club and our valued local sponsors. Over the last four seasons we feel we have continued to improve the venue and will continue to enhance people’s experience at the event in 2019 and beyond.”

Series Manager Stuart Drummond paid tribute to all the organisers involved with this year’s championship. “Competition for this award is always very fierce so well done to Woodbridge for making it a hat-trick of wins,” he said. “Every year the bar is raised and all the event organisers – some of whom were forced to deal with extremely adverse weather conditions this season – put in a huge effort.”

The club will receive its award at the annual ACU presentation evening at the National Motorcycle Museum on January 26.

The ACU announce MXGB organisers of the year - Blaxhall Makes it Four in a Row

With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, the ACU is pleased to give two organisers the greatest gift of all. For the first time in the history of the series, the award for organiser of the season has been given to two rounds. Woodbridge DMCC (hosts of the fourth race at Blaxhall) and the Cookstown & District MCC (hosts of round five at Desertmartin) will share the honours.

Woodbridge DMCC have now won this award for four years in succession. Blaxhall is always prepared in an immaculate fashion and plays host to the one of the biggest crowds each season, hence why it is no surprise that they are always in contention for the accolade. Blaxhall will host the fifth round of the 2020 ACU British Motocross Championship on May 31.

The Cookstown & District MCC club first won the organiser of the year award in 2011, then backed that up with another triumph in 2013. This is the first time that they have acquired the trophy since then. Although Desertmartin is a lengthy journey for a lot of the teams and riders, every single person in the paddock looks forward to jumping onto the golden sand. Desertmartin is set to host the sixth 2020 ACU British Motocross Championship round on June 21.

Preparations for the new season are already well underway, with the introduction of new branding for the series. The 2020 ACU British Motocross Championship will begin on March 15 at Little Silver.
